The Core Challenge

People don’t struggle to record. They struggle to trust transcription tools. When the network drops, recordings stop and progress is lost. Accuracy is unreliable, multilingual conversations break the system, and cluttered interfaces make transcripts unusable. Everything lives in the cloud, creating privacy risks for sensitive work.

The challenge was to design an AI transcription system that records locally even offline, processes intelligently when reconnected, supports multiple languages with high accuracy, and delivers a calm, privacy-first experience users can depend on.

Shifts in My Design Approach

I learned that true simplicity requires ruthless prioritization, and that one interface cannot serve every context without thoughtful adaptation, which led to the creation of focused modes. Designing for privacy, failure states, and user control pushed me to think beyond visuals and build a system that feels safe, clear, and intelligent.
